Venice Beach

Well my vacation is over. The last two days I've been out and about taking pictures. Saturday, Tom and I went to Venice Beach and I was able to take pictures and then on Sunday morning, I snuck out of the house and went on an adventure to Downtown Los Angeles. I walked all over the place. I even took the subway to Union Station and went to Alvero Street. I received a call around 3:00 asking where I was mind you I left the house at 9:00 in the morning. Tom asked, why didn't I take him... I told him I didn't think he was in for another day of me taking pictures... Most of my pictures focused on the buildings but I realized that their wasn't any real architectural qualities about Downtown Los Angeles. I'm not an art major or anything but I've seen a few big cities and Los Angeles is way behind. They are trying to revitalize it but they have a long way to go. Their weren't and coffee shops where you could sit back and relax and read book or a Sunday paper. No bookstores... Art Galleries...Nothing... What is the Major doing? If you're a dog lover then don't think about moving to one of those over price lofts... You won't find a patch of grass anywhere. I guess the big city wasn't designed for families. Well enough bashing of Downtown. I worked down there for about five years and nothing has really changed.

Venice

Tom and I decided to take another trip to Venice as we still have no kids. I discovered that I do all the school work through out the year and then my mom gets to have fun with them. That's okay with me because she enjoys them so much. I miss them like crazy but I know that they are having a good time so that is okay. Tom and I decided to go down to Venice Beach again. It was a blast. I took lots of pictueres. I will post soon. He also wanted to hold hands(wow) Of course, at the end of the night we ended up in a spat. Nothiing new. same old thing just a difererect day.
Well I have to sign off now as I am about to all asleap.

Two Peas In a Pot

This was taken at The Hanger, the home of the minor league baseball team the Jet Hawks for the Red Sox's. We spent the 4th of July watching the game and then the fireworks show after. I think this is our 3rd or 4th year in a row. The only terrible thing about it is that on the way to the game I received a speeding ticket. Me of all people. That really stinks. What a way to end your vacation. It's been a fun filled week.
I even chopped of my hair. Literally!!! I will post a picture when it grows out a little bit.
We have yet to celebrate Anthony birthday. I hope to do that when he returns from his dad's house.
Nothing else comes to mind at the moment so I will sign off. Until next time. Raquel

Sunstone

I've been on vacation for the last few days and it has been quite enjoyable. I'm sad that it will be ending in the next few days as tomorrow is already the 4th of July. It has been quite adventures. Monday, Jessica came home from a week at her uncle's house and went on a shopping spree. She wiped my out by the time I arrived home I hit the sack for a couple of hours. Tuesday, I woke up to a call from my son. He thought I was kidding out our little camping trip. He says, "you don't even know how to put up a tent. I told him not to worry about it but he still was not convinced. It was a head start but we did make it down to Gaviota State Beach. It was beautiful except for the wind. Yes, I was even able to pitch the tent. Anthony was a great help. He was the man of the hour. I was so proud of him. He helped with everything. It was his 14th birthday and now he has turn into quite a young man. Upon our arrival an Aussie came by to tell us about the wind factor. I thought it would not be any big deal but then the man next to us came by to tell us about how every ones tent collapsed. (yikes) I said, We'll make the best of it so I thought. Once we were all set up we ventured off to the beach. The water was beautiful... Unfortunately for the sandstorm we had to return to the site. Dinner came and we decided to have sandwiches. Which had to be eaten in the car. Way to much wind. In the end we had to pack up and leave. Jasmine has severe allergies and my mom couldnot handle the dusk. I didn't want to take any chances of her getting sick, so we headed to Bulleton and stayed in a Motel 6. It was fun. The next day we headed to Solvange. I got to take my mom to my favorite winery while the kids took an adventure of the city. They are quite familiar with Solvange as we use to go all the time when they were small. I can't believe how big they are now. We had an AWESOME time!!! This picture was taken at the winery. I even got her to sign up for the wine club... She loved it. I'm going to take her back real soon.
